How To Use Coconut Oil to Prevent Graying, Balding Hair, and More

prevent graying

Coconut oil is perfectly made to nourish one’s hair. “The capric and caprylic acids work as antioxidants and disinfectants, and the low molecular weight of the oil means it can easily penetrate the hair shaft.” Unlike store-bought shampoos and conditioners which are made up of silicones, coconut oil doesn’t just sit on top of the hair, but it goes deep to the root of the issue instead.

Coconut oil is a great treatment for several common hair problems.

Given that coconut oil nourishes the scalp, it protects hair follicles.  Graying occurs when the follicle which is responsible for coloring one`s hair loses its efficiency. People who are dealing with premature graying may benefit from coconut oil.

Lice have gradually become immune to lice shampoo.  Luckily, coconut oil is a great way to deal with lice naturally.  It coats the scalp and lice and suffocates them.  Also, it makes it easier to remove nits and creates unfavorable environment in which lice cannot survive.

Fungal infections are the most common causes of dandruff.  They are trigged by the use of commercial shampoos, but not with coconut oil. Its antifungal properties make it ideal for fighting dandruff and keeping it at bay.

Hair Loss

Vitamins and healthy fats in coconut oil heal the scalp and shaft, leading to hair growth and less hair loss.  In addition, coconut oil may help with infections and inflammation which may be an underlying cause of one`s hair loss.

Frizzy Hair

If you suffer from damaged hair and split ends, coconut oil is ideal for you.  It provides healing properties and more protein to the shaft needed for smoother hair.  What`s more, it gives the hair a natural shine by hydrating it efficiently.
